The 2026 Kente Wear Festival is expanding into a four-show celebration of Ghanaian textile heritage, fashion, music and enterprise, with Lord Paper and his band announced as headline performers.
Four dates for a wider celebration
Organiser Freeway LLC has scheduled shows for October 24 at Sterling Banquet Hall, October 31 at Ehall South, November 14 at Big Field Pavilion and November 21 at African Palace. The multi-date format gives audiences in the diaspora more opportunities to engage with Kente as both tradition and contemporary design language.
The programme is expected to combine fashion showcases with cultural performances, exhibitions and networking. Designers, models, entrepreneurs and lovers of African fashion will have space to present both traditional work and new Kente-inspired ideas.
Music meets fashion and identity
Lord Paper’s headline performance adds a live-music dimension to the celebration. It also reflects the festival’s broader goal: using entertainment to strengthen cultural connection and keep Ghanaian craftsmanship visible in global spaces.
Beyond the runway, the event is positioned as a meeting point for heritage, business and community. For audiences, it offers a chance to wear the culture, hear it and encounter the people building its next chapter.
